Are you missing one or more teeth and looking for a reliable solution to restore your smile? Dental bridges could be the answer you've been seeking. At Clemson Family Dentistry, Dr. Nathan Ewoldt and his experienced team offer top-notch dental bridge treatments to help you regain your confidence and oral health. Let's dive into the world of dental bridges, their benefits, and the treatment process.
Why Should I Get Dental Bridges?
Missing teeth can have a significant impact on your oral health and overall well-being, but a dental bridge can restore your smile’s aesthetics, improve its functionality, and help maintain your overall oral health. Dental bridges are custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth. They seamlessly blend in with your smile, enhancing your appearance, while restoring your ability to eat your favorite foods and speak clearly. Additionally, gaps left by missing teeth can cause adjacent teeth to shift, leading to misalignment issues. Dental bridges help maintain proper tooth alignment, for long-term oral health.

The Benefits of Dental Bridges
Enhanced Confidence
When you have a complete smile, you're more likely to feel confident in social situations and at work. Dental bridges can significantly boost your self-esteem.
Better Oral Health
By filling the gaps left by missing teeth, dental bridges prevent surrounding teeth from shifting and protect your oral health in the long run.
Comfort and Convenience
Unlike removable dentures, dental bridges are fixed in place, so you don't have to worry about removing them for cleaning or while eating. They offer comfort and convenience.
The Dental Bridge Treatment Process
Consultation and Tooth Preparation
Your journey to a restored smile begins with an initial consultation at Clemson Family Dentistry. During this appointment, Dr. Nathan Ewoldt will examine your oral health, discuss your treatment options, and determine if dental bridges are the right choice for you. If they are, the adjacent teeth will be prepared by reshaping and removing some enamel to create a stable foundation for the bridge.
Impression, Temporary Bridge, and Custom Bridge Fitting
After tooth preparation, impressions of your mouth will be taken to ensure a precise fit for your custom bridge. Meanwhile, a temporary bridge will be placed to protect the exposed teeth while your custom bridge is being crafted in our dental lab. When your custom bridge is ready, you'll return to our office for its placement. Dr. Ewoldt will ensure that it fits perfectly and looks natural, making any necessary adjustments.
Final Placement and Aftercare
Once you and Dr. Ewoldt are satisfied with the fit and appearance of your dental bridge, it will be permanently cemented into place. You'll leave our office with a complete and confident smile. Dr. Ewoldt will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to ensure the longevity of your dental bridge, including the importance of regular dental check-ups.
